We don't recommend Gaumukh Tapovan in December. The trail is at its best in May, Jun, Sep, Oct — and there are better options this month (listed below). The trek runs 7 days from Gangotri, Uttarkashi, reaching 14,640 ft at its highest point, and is graded Difficult (5/5). Weather & trail conditions in December

Expect snow on the upper sections of the trail and frozen water sources near camps. Micro-spikes and gaiters (provided on our snow treks) become essential above the snowline, and daylight hours are short — days start early and end early. On Gaumukh Tapovan, expect daytime temperatures around 5°C on the trail and roughly -12°C at the highest camps after dark in December.
