The Beas Kund–Solang Valley trek is our answer to the group that can't agree: half of you want adrenaline sports, half want a real Himalayan trail. This 4-day itinerary gives you a full adventure day on the Solang meadow — zip-line and paragliding optional — and then walks you up the classic route to Beas Kund, the glacial lake at 12,772 ft beneath Hanuman Tibba's 19,450 ft wall. Everyone goes home right.
What is the Beas Kund–Solang itinerary?
Day 1 settles you into camp on the Solang meadow at 8,530 ft and hands the day over to the Solang way of life — zip-lining across the valley or paragliding off the ridge, with short acclimatisation walks in between. Adventure activities are optional add-ons run by licensed local operators; you pay only for what you choose.
Day 2 walks 9 km up the valley floor past Dhundi, where the infant Beas gathers its streams, to the shepherd meadow of Bakarthach. Day 3 crosses the moraine to the small, sacred lake itself — Shitidhar, Friendship Peak and Hanuman Tibba crowding the mirror-still water — and returns to Bakarthach. Day 4 is an easy downhill to Solang, one last hot chocolate at the meadow café, and the short drive to Manali.
When is the best time for this trek?
May to October — the same generous window as the classic Beas Kund route. May–June gives snow bridges and the liveliest Solang adventure scene; July–August is wildflower season; September–October has the clearest peak views and quieter trails.
How difficult is the Beas Kund–Solang trek?
Easy-Moderate, with the smartest altitude profile in our beginner range: you acclimatise low at Solang before sleeping higher at Bakarthach. Daily walks top out at 9 km, and only the boulder field before the lake asks for care. Four weeks of brisk walking is honest preparation.
What does the package cost?
₹8,999 + 5% GST per person. The package includes all meals on the trek, alpine tents on twin sharing with sleeping bags and mats, a trek leader plus local guide, forest permits and camping charges, and transport between Manali and Solang both ways. Zip-line and paragliding fees, offloading and tips are extra.
How do you reach Solang Valley?
Get to Manali by overnight Volvo from Delhi or Chandigarh, or fly to Bhuntar; Solang is 13 km up the valley and our included transport covers it on Day 1 morning.
Do you need permits here?
Kullu forest division permits for the Solang nallah are arranged by us and included — carry a government photo ID.
