Some treks have a best season; Kedarkantha has a signature season. From December to April, this trail becomes the winter trek against which all others are measured.
The snow experience, minus the extremes
Kedarkantha's summit sits at 12,500 ft — high enough for deep, reliable snow, low enough to avoid the brutal cold and altitude risks of bigger peaks. Camps stay around -5 to -10°C at night, which good sleeping bags (ours are rated -15°C) handle comfortably.
A real summit for first-timers
Unlike pass treks where you cross over a saddle, Kedarkantha ends on a genuine peak. The final climb starts at 3 AM under stars, and the 360° sunrise view — Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak — is the kind of moment that turns one-time trekkers into lifelong ones.
Book the right window
Late December brings the festive rush; January–February has the deepest snow; March–April offers softer weather with lingering snowfields. Our winter batches are live now with an early-season price of ₹4,999 — see the Kedarkantha trek page for dates.
