We don't recommend Buran Ghati in January. The trail is at its best in May, Jun, Sep, Oct — and there are better options this month (listed below). The trek runs 7 days from Janglik, Shimla, reaching 15,000 ft at its highest point, and is graded Moderate-Difficult (4/5). The fee is ₹18,999 + 5% GST with permits, meals, camping and certified trek leaders included.

Weather & trail conditions in January

Expect snow on the upper sections of the trail and frozen water sources near camps. Micro-spikes and gaiters (provided on our snow treks) become essential above the snowline, and daylight hours are short — days start early and end early.
