From there they diverge completely — different seasons, different shapes of reward, wildly different crowd levels. Here is the honest comparison.
How do they compare on paper?
Kedarkantha: 6 days, 12,500 ft summit, Easy-Moderate, ₹14,999 + 5% GST, season December-April. Phulara Ridge: 6 days, 12,127 ft ridgeline, Moderate, ₹11,999 + 5% GST, season April-June and September-November. Notice the seasons barely overlap — for most calendars, the choice makes itself.
Summit moment or summit day?
Kedarkantha builds to one glorious point: the 3 AM push and a 360-degree sunrise from a true peak. Phulara spreads its climax across an entire day — 8 km of continuous ridgeline with Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch and Kedarkantha itself strung along the skyline. Sprint finish versus victory lap; both are wonderful, and they are not the same feeling.
What about snow and crowds?
Kedarkantha is India's favourite winter trek, with deep December-February snow and campsites to match its fame. Phulara runs in the green seasons and stays quiet — its neighbours' celebrity is its shelter. If solitude ranks above snow for you, the ridge wins without contest.
Which should you book?
