Pangarchulla Peak Trek in November

Weather, temperatures, packing and honest advice — from the team that runs this trail.

The quick answer

We don't recommend Pangarchulla Peak in November. The trail is at its best in Mar, Apr, May, Jun — and there are better options this month (listed below). The trek runs 6 days from Joshimath, Chamoli, reaching 15,069 ft at its highest point, and is graded Moderate-Difficult (4/5). The fee is ₹9,500 + 5% GST with permits, meals, camping and certified trek leaders included.

Why not this month: July–August monsoon soaks the steep approach; November to February the summit ridge holds too much soft snow for a safe push — the boulder maze underneath becomes treacherous.

Weather & trail conditions in November

The monsoon washes the sky clean, leaving the sharpest mountain views of the year. Trails are dry, rivers settle down, and nights get progressively colder as winter approaches. On Pangarchulla Peak, expect daytime temperatures around 7°C on the trail and roughly -9°C at the highest camps after dark in November.
