A scenic drive through West Sikkim's cardamom country to the roadhead at Hilley, then an easy hour-and-a-half walk into the Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary — the forest closes over you in pink and red.

Permits & paperwork
Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary entry permits are arranged by us and included. Indian citizens need a govt. photo ID; foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) for Sikkim. Bloom peaks from mid-March to early May.
Backpack offloading
Don't want to carry your rucksack? Our mules and porters will carry it camp-to-camp while you walk with a light daypack. Bags must be under 9 kg, soft-sided, without wheels.
